Getting started with industrial electrification with Power-2-X voucher

Do you want to work on making processes more sustainable with industrial electrification?

Do you need advice on how to approach this, want to investigate the feasibility of your project or calculate the payback period? Or do you want to validate a new technology?

The Fieldlab Industrial Electrification (FLIE) offers a unique Power-2-X voucher scheme to support projects aimed at electrification and sustainability.

This scheme allows you to receive grants for feasibility or pilot studies.

A feasibility study 100% is eligible up to a maximum of €15,000. You can use this voucher for, among other things:

  • Research and analysis: feasibility studies, business case analyses, market studies or infrastructure research.
  • Advice around regulations: understanding regulations, financing and permits.
  • Financing advice: a tailored financing scan.
  • Technology assessment: exploration, selection and specification of technologies.
  • Supplier selection: including risk analysis and demonstrations.

A pilot study 50% is eligible and can be used to validate your technology in FLIE's pilot hall. From now on, you can submit your project plan to be eligible.

Why this scheme?

The Port Industrial Complex (HIC) in Rotterdam is working to substantially reduce CO₂ emissions by replacing fossil processes with electric alternatives. FLIE offers knowledge, an extensive network and practical facilities to support companies in this transition.

How does it work?

Companies can express their interest individually or together with partners using the form below. Submitted applications will be assessed individually from each other. Selected projects will be invited for a pitch. After that, we will announce which projects can start with the awarded grant.

The vouchers cover hours and materials for feasibility or pilot studies, both in the field lab and in the field.

Who is eligible for the voucher?

The scheme targets companies that contribute to making the process industry in South Holland more sustainable, such as:

  • Manufacturing companies who want to electrify their processes.
  • Energy companies who want to test new services.
  • Technology companies who want to demonstrate or validate their innovations.

Criteria

  • The project is in line with FLIE's objectives.
  • It contributes to the energy transition in the Rotterdam HIC.
  • The project must be completed by 31 December 2027.
  • The outcome of the project may lead to a follow-up process.
  • You provide compulsory co-financing in the case of a pilot study

Together, we are working towards a sustainable future. Don't miss this opportunity - apply for your voucher and become a pioneer in industrial electrification!

Example projects

An example project that has used FLIE's services is with VSPARTICLE, in which an innovative production method for electro-catalytic membranes was developed. With this technology, hydrogen is produced faster, more sustainable and cheaper.

Another example project was done with LANXESS, who wanted to investigate ahead of the 2040 target whether it would be possible to electrify heat production for their granulator. FLIE, after researching and working closely with LANXESS to four promising options.

Why work with FLIE?

FLIE provides a practical environment where industry, technology companies and energy companies work together on electrification solutions. By testing technologies and sharing knowledge on an industrial scale, we accelerate the energy transition. Collaboration with FLIE offers:

  • Access to unique expertise and facilities.
  • Technology development and implementation support.
  • Access to a wide network of industrial and academic partners.
