Fieldlab Industrial Electrification enters new phase with Josepha van Kollenburg as director

As of August, the Fieldlab Industrial Electrification (FLIE) has a new director! After the quartermaster phase, in which Jeroen van Woerden laid the foundations, it is now time for a new phase in which concrete steps will be taken towards sustainability. Led by Josepha van Kollenburg, FLIE will make a move to a demolocation site to test innovative technologies in an industrial environment to then scale it up and implement it on-site. Several projects have already been launched testing the feasibility of different electrification technologies.

Van Kollenburg brings a lot of experience from the plastics industry. For the past nine years, she has focused there on the route to sustainability. At PlasticsEurope, in addition to sensitive topics such as microplastics, she has been actively involved in the Operation Clean Sweep® programme for the past three years. As the initiator of this initiative, she set up the Task Force 'Clean Sweep Rotterdam' with, among others, the Port of Rotterdam Authority, Ducor Petrochemicals B.V. and DCMR, in order to combat granular plastic waste in the port of Rotterdam. In addition, van Kollenburg has been active in all kinds of projects, such as the Clean Scheldt Covenant and as Chairman of Rethink plastics, an initiative of PlasticsEurope Netherlands and the NRK. Here, she played an important key role in improving the image of the plastics industry, working on how to communicate and represent the industry to various stakeholders.

I am greatly looking forward to working with the team to show that we can make a significant contribution to the climate goals from the heart of the port of Rotterdam.

Josepha van Kollenburg is looking forward to working with the Fieldlab on Rotterdam's climate goals. "I am enormously looking forward to working with the team to show that we can make a significant contribution to the climate goals from the heart of the Port of Rotterdam. After all, accelerating electrification technologies is essential for the energy transition. FLIE is the first Fieldlab in the region to test technologies on this scale together with companies. The focus on electrification makes us unique."

Looking at the partners behind the Fieldlab, you have a network and a knowledge base with a wealth of experience and expertise. So it cannot help but be a success!

Van Kollenburg takes over from Jeroen van Woerden, the former quartermaster of the Fieldlab Industrial Electrification. "I want to thank Jeroen immensely, he laid an important foundation for us". Van Kollenburg views the future positively: "Looking at the partners behind the Fieldlab, you have a network and a knowledge base with a wealth of experience and expertise. So it can't help but be a success! My ambition is that other regions both nationally and internationally will follow FLIE's example in accelerating the energy transition."
